Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 11, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Vurate, a service operated by Rockerpreneur Publishing ("Vurate," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Vurate website and application (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who We Are
Vurate is operated by Rockerpreneur Publishing, located in California, USA. For any privacy question or request, contact us at support@vurate.com.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide: Account information — when you sign up, we collect your email address and, if you sign in with Google, basic profile information Google shares (such as your name and profile photo). We also store the display name, username, bio, and avatar you set. Content you create — the video links, playlists, titles, descriptions, and sharing/collaboration settings you add to the Service. Communications — messages you send us (for example, support requests).
Information collected automatically: Usage and device data — basic log information such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, and actions taken, used to operate, secure, and improve the Service. Cookies and local storage — we use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and protect the Service. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information, and the Service is not intended for anyone under 18 (see Section 8).
3. How We Use Information
We use information to: create and manage your account and authenticate you; provide, maintain, and improve the Service, including your playlists and sharing features; send you service-related communications, such as sign-in links and important notices; protect the security and integrity of the Service, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms; and comply with legal obligations.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described here: Service providers (subprocessors) — we use trusted third parties to run the Service, who process information on our behalf under contract. These currently include: Supabase (database, authentication, and storage), Vercel (application hosting), Resend (sending emails), Google (sign-in / OAuth), and Cloudflare (bot protection). This list may change as our infrastructure evolves. Other users — when you make a playlist public, share it by link, or invite specific people, the information in that playlist, and your public profile (username, display name, avatar), is visible to those people, and to anyone you or they share a link with. Legal and safety — we may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or governmental request, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Vurate, our users, or the public. Business transfers — if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
5. Third-Party Platforms
The Service links to and plays content from third-party platforms (such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Reddit, and Threads). When you interact with that content, the applicable platform may collect information about you under its own privacy policy. We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy practices of those platforms.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and thereafter as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required or permitted by law.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact support@vurate.com. We will respond as required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
California residents: Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA), you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and share it, to request access to and deletion of your personal information, and to correct inaccurate information. We do not sell or "share" your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To make a request, email support@vurate.com.
You can also manage your profile information directly in the app and control cookies through your browser.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected information from a person under 18, we will delete it. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact support@vurate.com.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.
10. International Users
The Service is operated in the United States, and information we collect is processed and stored in the U.S. and other countries where our service providers operate. By using the Service, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have data-protection laws different from those in your country.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you. The "Effective Date" above indicates when this Policy was last revised. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
12. Contact
